A roof is only as reliable as the underlying preparation and the details at its edges. This job shows a new deck prepared for the roof covering, followed by the application of a torch-on felt system.
Boarding and substrate
Boarding was prepared as the substrate for the felt roofing system. The deck must be suitably supported, sound and dry before a covering is installed.

Installing the weatherproof covering
Torch-on felt is applied in layers and overlapped to form the finished membrane system. Correct products, preparation, application and fire precautions matter during this type of roofing work.

Roof edges and junctions
The upstands, perimeter details, roof falls and the termination of the felt are as important as the open field of the roof. Those junctions are where many flat-roof problems begin.
The completed roof
The finished dark felt surface is visible in these project photographs. The pictures document the work but do not replace a site inspection or a specification tailored to another property.
