A complete pitched-roof replacement, photographed as the work progressed. Our aerial images show the new roofing underlay, treated battens, installation of the new man-made slate covering and finished roof.
The job
The existing roof covering was taken off as part of the re-roofing work. With the roof opened up, the structure and roof details could be assessed before the new roof build-up went on. Where timber repairs were required, these were handled as part of the agreed work.
New membrane and treated battens
The photographs show a newly installed breathable roof membrane and treated battens being fitted across the slopes. The underlay provides a secondary weather-resisting layer beneath the final roof covering; it is not a substitute for correct slating or detailing at penetrations and edges.

Installing the new roof covering
The man-made slate covering was laid progressively, with the surrounding roof slopes, roof windows, ridges and chimney junctions needing particular attention. A finished roof depends on those less visible details as much as on even courses.

The finished appearance
From the air, the completed dark roof covering gives a much cleaner, more consistent finish than the weathered neighbouring coverings. These aerial photographs are of the real project, not stock images.

Planning a similar roof replacement?
The right solution depends on roof pitch, existing structure, covering choice, access and the condition found when the old roof is removed. We provide written quotations describing the proposed work rather than publishing a blanket price for every roof.
